Mariabs — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026Summary
Mariabs is a free interval timer and run tracker. Mariabs does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data on any server. Everything you configure or record stays on your device. What data we collect
None. Mariabs has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter that transmits identifiers, and no third-party trackers. What data is stored on your device
Your timer configuration (work, rest, cycle, and block durations) is saved in your iPhone's local storage so it persists between launches. In Run mode, the runs you choose to save (route, distance and times) are stored there too. This data never leaves your device. Removing the app deletes it.Permissions
Mariabs does not request access to your camera, microphone or contacts. The app plays audio (chimes and voice cues) through the standard media output; this requires no permission and starts no recording. Sharing a workout card can use a photo you pick yourself through the system photo picker; the app never gets access to your library.Location (Run mode)
When you start a run in Run mode, Mariabs asks for your location ("While Using the App") to measure distance and pace and to draw your route on a map. Location is used only while a run is in progress, including while the screen is locked, and stops when the run ends. Your route, distance and times are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and there is no account. The map itself is Apple Maps, provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. You can export a run as a GPX file through the share sheet, delete any saved run in the app, and turn location access off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Runs are not written to Apple Health.Apple Health
If you allow it, Mariabs writes each finished interval workout to Apple Health as a high-intensity interval training session. On Apple Watch the workout is recorded by the system as a workout session, so it also includes the heart rate and active energy the watch measures during the session and counts toward your Activity rings. Mariabs never reads any Health data, requests no read access, and none of this leaves your device except through Apple Health's own iCloud sync, which you control in Settings. You can turn the iPhone write off in the app (APPLE HEALTH > Save workouts) and revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing > Apps.Children's privacy
Mariabs is rated 4+. Because Mariabs collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.Changes to this policy
